History of the Château d'Epoisses

Classified as a historic monument, the Château d’Époisses is located in the centre of Burgundy, in a beautiful and rich valley that bears its name. Its history dates back to the 6th century. A veritable fortress, this medieval complex, which was inhabited in turn by the Queen of the Franks, the Dukes of Burgundy, the great Condé and the Marquise de Sévigné, retains physical traces of each century, as a true witness to the history of France. Owned by the same family since 1661, the family maintains the old house by continuing the conservation of this exceptional site, opening it to visitors, which has never before been so splendid.
