On Saturday August 12, 2023 at 8:30 p.m., the Amad company will perform in the main courtyard of the Epoisses castle the famous play by Marivaux "Les jeux de l'amour et du hasard". Free access.
Visit
You can visit the castle terraces, the gardens and the dovecote all year round from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Accessible for the disabled. Price of 3€ per person. The interior of the castle can be visited for groups of 12 adults minimum by booking by email only from April 1st to June 30th and from September 1st to October 31st, or individually without reservation from July 1st to August 31st from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. 6 p.m., except Tuesday.
Tasting Epoisses cheese
From April 1st to June 30th and from September 1st to October 31st, for groups of 12 people minimum, we organize tastings of Epoisses cheese and Burgundy wine in the castle dining room. Only on reservation by emailing visites@chateaudepoisses.com Price : 10€ par person (in addition of the price of the visit)
History of Epoisses castle
Classified as a historical monument, the Epoisses castle is located in the center of Burgundy, in a beautiful and rich plain that bears its name. Its history dates back to the 6th century. A veritable fortress, this medieval complex which was inhabited in turn by the Queen of the Franks, the Dukes of Burgundy, the Grand Condé and the Marquise de Sévigné, preserves the memory of each century both in its architecture and in its interior decorations, such as a true witness to the history of France. Owned by the same family since 1661, the family maintains the old house by continuing the conservation of this exceptional site, opening it to visitors, which has never before been so splendid.
